Monday, May 2 took the usual MET Ball at the Metropolitan Museum in New York in collaboration with the Costume Institute.

The annual dance beneficence opened with a parade of stars on the red carpet with dream dresses, where many of the guests wore clothes designed by Alexander McQueen, who was dedicated the evening and the exhibition that starts today until July 31 2011.

The exhibition entitled “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” will be divided into 5 routes and will trace the career of British designer disappeared over a year ago:
“Savage Mind”
“Romantic Gothic”
“Romantic Nationalism”
“Romantic Exociticism”
“Romantic Primitivism“

Simultaneously, also will be release a book dedicated to the English designer, written by Harold Koda and Andrew Bolton which will tell about the milestones of his career, and about the McQueen ‘s current creative director Sarah Burton. The book will be published by The Metropolitan Museum of Art and distributed by Yale University Press in a special edition with 250 illustrations.

Lunedì 2 maggio si è tenuto il consueto MET Ball al Metropolitan Museum di New York in collaborazione con il Costume Institute. L’ annuale ballo di benificenza si è aperto con una parata di star che hanno sfilato sul red carpet con abiti da sogno, dove molti degli invitati hanno indossato abiti dello stilista Alexander McQueen, al quale è stata dedicata la serata e la mostra che prende il via oggi fino al 31 luglio 2011.

La mostra dal titolo “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” sarà suddivisa in 5 percorsi e ripercorrerà la carriera dello stilista inglese scomparso più di anno fa :
“Savage Mind”
“Romantic Gothic”
“Romantic Nationalism”
“Romantic Exociticism”
“Romantic Primitivism“
Contemporanemente uscirà anche un libro dedicato al designer inglese, scritto da Andrew Bolton e Harold Koda dove si racconteranno le tappe fondamentali della carriera di McQueen e dell’ attuale direttore creativo Sarah Burton. Il libro sarà pubblicato dal The Metropolitan Museum of Art e distribuito da Yale University Press in edizione speciale con 250 raffigurazioni.
